    Door Supervisor Courses We Offer

    Door Supervisor

    1. Level 2 Course

    The level 2 door supervisor course is divided into four units.

    • Principles of Working in the Private Security Industry
    • Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry
    • Application of Conflict Management in the Private Security Industry
    • Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry

    On the final day of the course there will be 4 multiple-choice exams and a practical assessment of the physical intervention skills you will be taught on the course.

    Everything you are required to know for the exam is covered during the Door Supervisor Course, your instructor will fully prepare you for success in your tests.

    Students taking the Door Supervision Course for the first time will need to show that they hold a current and valid First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate. This must meet the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

    If you have completed a first aid course, you will be required to bring your First Aid or Emergency First Aid certificate to us before you start training. This certificate must be valid for at least 12 months from the course start date.

    Door Supervisor Top Up

    2. Level 2 Course Top Up

      The Level 2 Door Supervisor Top Up course will award you the ability to renew your SIA Door Supervisor Licence and allow you to continue working in the Security Industry.

      SIA Top-up training is a compulsory upskilling training course for Door Supervisors. Top Up Door Supervisor Training is to ensure that current Door Supervisor license holders have the same level of qualification as those who are newly qualified. You will need to complete and pass the Top Up course to renew your current SIA Licence.

      Before you are able to begin your Door Supervisor Top Up Course you must complete the ACT Awareness and ACT Security e-learning courses online. You must also be able to provide a First Aid At Work or Emergency First Aid At Work certificate valid within the last 12 months before you begin the course.

      • Duration 20 minutes
      • 70% Pass Mark

      Principles of Using Equipment for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry

      • 5-question multiple choice exam
      • Duration 10 minutes
      • 70% Pass Mark

      Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry

      • 30-question multiple-choice exam
      • Duration 45 minutes
      • 80% Pass Mark
      Door Supervisor + First Aid At Work

      3. Level 2 Course Plus First Aid

      The Level 2 Door Supervisor plus first aid course will award you an SIA recognised Security Qualification which will enable you to apply for your SIA Door Supervisor Licence, and start working in the security industry. This course also provides you with a First Aid Qualification which is a requirement of the Security Industry Authority.

      This course will award you an SIA recognised Security Qualification which will enable you to apply for your SIA Door Supervisor Licence, and start working in the security industry.       From 01 April 2021 learners taking their Door Supervision training for the first time will need to hold a current and valid First Aid At Work or Emergency First Aid certificate. On the first day of your course you will complete a EFAW Course which will then enable you to enter the next phase of your Door Supervisor Training.

      Course Units

      In order to complete this course, learners are required to complete the following four mandatory modules:

      Module 1: Principles of working in the private security industry
      Module 2: Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor in The Private Security Industry
      Module 3: Application of Conflict Management in The Private Security Industry
      Module 4: Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry
      Emergency First Aid At Work

      Adult resuscitation (CPR)
      Burns and scalds
      Choking adult
      Communication and casualty care
      Defibrillator prompts and how to respond (theory-based)
      Defibrillator pad placement (theory-based)
      Minor and severe bleeding
      Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations)
      Seizures
      Shock
      Unresponsive adult

      Assessment

      The SIA Door Supervisor course is assessed by four multiple-choice paper exams and three practical assessments that you will complete during attendance as follows:

      Module 1: Principles of working in the private security industry

      • 72-question multiple-choice exam paper
      • Examination duration: 110 minutes
      • 70% pass mark

      Module 2: Principles of working as a door supervisor in the private security

      • 50-question multiple-choice exam paper
      • Examination duration: 75 minutes
      • 70% pass mark

      Module 3: Application of conflict management in the private security industry

      • 20-question multiple-choice exam paper
      • Examination duration: 30 minutes
      • 70% pass mark

      Module 4: Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry

      • 30-question multiple-choice exam paper
      • Examination duration: 45 minutes
      • 80% pass mark

       Emergency First Aid At Work

      Continuous observation by the trainer.

      • 15-question multiple choice exam paper
      • Examination Duration: 30 minutes
      • 70% Pass Mark
      Door Supervisor Top Up + First Aid At Work

      The level 2 door supervisor top-up and first aid course will award you the ability to renew your SIA Door Supervisor Licence and allow you to continue working in the Security Industry.
